Latin America Maritime Climate Champions Role

The Climate High-Level Champions seek to appoint a Latin American Maritime coordinator for 2025 to liaise with private sector, civil society, and to convene events that promote decarbonization of the maritime sector.

Rationale for OCDI: Considering Brazil’s role as President for COP 30, there is a unique diplomatic opportunity for South and Central America to accelerate their commitments to maritime decarbonization in 2025. Especially following agreement on the IMO’s net-zero framework, it will be critical to sustain momentum towards implementation of the fuel standard.
